The Travel Plan Network brings together Metro, the five local authorities of West Yorkshire and the Highways Agency, to support employers from West Yorkshire in promoting more sustainable ways of travelling to work and reducing the number of people who drive alone.
Membership is open to any employer in West Yorkshire, of any size or sector, who is committed to providing a range of travel planning assistance to its employees. We support over 140 businesses including health trusts, colleges and universities, local authorities and government agencies, as well as private business.
Since April 2007, the Travel Plan Network has received funding from Yorkshire Forward to create the ‘Travel for Work' project. This has resulted in extra staffing and resource for the Network, with the aim of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from journeys to work and business travel in West Yorkshire.
What can the Travel Plan Network do for you?
We can provide:
- A dedicated Travel Plan Network Advisor
- Promotional campaign materials to encourage your staff to use green travel options
- Regular updates and electronic newsletters
- Maps of transport routes in relation to employees’ homes and the workplace
- Networking events to enable members to share experiences and practices.

Membership of the Network is free of charge. Most of our services are also free, and we can offer some at a discount to members. If you are a member of the Travel Plan Network, you are likely to already fill many of the conditions for the Company MetroCard discount (currently 15%).
