For annual monitoring and more in-depth identification of issues

Annual snapshot survey

We think this is so important that it is one of the basic requirements for membership of the Travel Plan Network. Undertaking a simple travel to work survey provides a way of tracking changes in travel patterns, assessing the effect of all the hard work put into your travel plan and indicating future travel plan measures.

Members are welcome to undertake their own in-house survey, but are encouraged to participate in the annual West Yorkshire Travel to Work snapshot survey. This survey takes place in March each year, to try and ensure consistency in results year by year. The survey is quick and easy to do, consisting of just three basic questions, and can be undertaken via the internet, or manually on survey sheets supplied by us. The West Yorkshire Local Transport Plan monitoring team will then analyse all the responses, and we will provide you with the results specific to your premises and some general statistics to act as a benchmark for you.

Staff travel survey – software package

Many employers like to carry out a more detailed survey of staff travel patterns and preferences when devising their travel plan measures and priorities, and subsequently every few years as part of the review process. Creating and analysing your own survey can be a very labour intensive process, so the Travel Plan Network can provide you with a standard staff travel survey. This comes as a software package either for installation on an intranet, or for a stand-alone computer. Responses to questions are automatically collated and summarised as an illustrated Word document report.

As this package is a new development, we are happy to provide it free of charge for trial by Travel Plan Network members.

As part of the Travel Plan Network service, you will receive help to go through your report and decide what it means for the direction of your travel plan.
