Staff home postcode maps provide a useful visual representation of where all your staff live in relation to your site(s). They serve a range of purposes within travel planning:
- Indicate what “mix” of travel plan measures is relevant for a site
- Show the potential for walking, cycling, public transport and car-share
- Provide a talking point at planning meetings
- Provide useful data when discussing routes with bus operators
If you do not have the in-house capacity to produce these maps yourself, the Network Partnership can do this for members at a cost-effective discounted rate. Postcodes need to be provided in electronic format e.g. as an Excel spreadsheet. This service will follow Data Protection guidelines.
Bus accessibility maps – 50% discount
Membership of the Network entitles employers to a 50% discount on these maps, which are tailor-made by Metro, on request. These maps provide an effective visual illustration of the bus catchment area of your site(s). The software used to generate the maps makes it possible to create maps for different periods of the day, for different days of the week, based on different walking distances to bus stops, and showing selected time bands for travel. They can:
Show the potential for public transport access to your site
- Indicate possible areas to target for recruitment
- Provide useful data when discussing routes with bus operators
- Enable review of the potential effect of relocation or alterations to opening hours and shift patterns
A sample map (based on one of Metro’s own out-of-town sites) is available to illustrate the scope of these maps.
