The opening ceremony was carried out by the Lord Mayor of Leeds Councillor Brian Cleasby at the new pedestrian crossing outside Rosebank Primary School on Burley Road. The outbound bus lane will improve bus reliability for commuters travelling between the city centre and Burley, Headingley and Kirkstall, while new pedestrian crossings will improve safety for local people including children walking to local schools.

Metro Chairman Councillor Ryk Downes said “The improvements this scheme provides will be welcomed by existing bus users, who tell us that reliability is what they want most out of services, and could encourage more people to use the bus to commute along this busy route.”
