We’ve recently had some queries from Network members about how and when they should pass on items from TPN communications to staff. We therefore thought it would be useful to provide coordinators with some hints and tips on when and how to pass on relevant messages from the e-newsletter to staff.
The TPN newsletter is primarily written for you as the Coordinator of your organisation’s travel plan, to keep you up to date with what is going on within the Network and West Yorkshire. Some articles however, are directly relevant to staff, for example in the last newsletter we told you about what was going on in Bike Week and for World Environment Day.
In cases where you feel an article may be of interest to employees we would ask that you do not forward the full TPN e-newsletter but copy the article and paste it into the usual medium that you use to communicate to staff. This way you can still link your story to the article written on our website, but without forwarding the entire e-newsletter.
Where we tell you about a forthcoming campaign and ask you to register your organisation’s participation online, we would ask you not to forward or copy the article to staff as we often find staff get confused and contact us directly to take part.
Instead, if you would like to tell your staff about a campaign in advance of us sending you supporting text for your staff emails and newsletters, please copy and paste the article and reword text so that it is more relevant to your employees making sure you remove any reference to online registration to avoid confusion.
Finally, if there are any issues you would particularly like bringing to your employees attention and you would like our assistance in producing this information, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
