There are over 800 Yournextbus displays at bus stops throughout West Yorkshire informing passengers of the real time departures of the buses serving the stop. Bus departure times can also be accessed by sending a text message, using wap or online.
Metro’s real time team have been working on a package for workplaces, providing real time information for a selected cluster of bus stops so that staff and visitors are aware of the real departure times of all buses in the vicinity of the site.
For each workplace it will be possible to select the bus stops to include in the cluster and also add an appropriate message and map to the display screen. See the image below for an example of how the display would look for Metro’s head office. The bus stops surrounding the building have been selected to form the cluster and the screen then displays the next twelve buses due at these stops.
Metro is currently considering the following two packages:
- The workplace provides the internet connection and hardware and Metro provides the web address.
- The workplace provides the internet connection and Metro provides the hardware and web address.
