Corporate MetroCard
Membership of the West Yorkshire Travel Plan Network entitles employers to apply for a 15% “travel plan discount” through the Corporate MetroCard scheme, a version of the annual MetroCard. The MetroCard is a pre-paid travelcard giving virtually unlimited travel on buses or trains & buses in West Yorkshire (different options available).
Employees in the Corporate MetroCard scheme only pay for 9 months travel and get 3 months FREE.
Other benefits of the scheme include:
- Time-saving, just board the bus and show
- Highly cost-effective
Employers are required to promote the scheme widely to their staff, to coordinate applications and provide an advance of salary or interest-free loan and payroll deductions.

MetroDay
Metro and West Yorkshire's bus operators have introduced a new all-day ticket, called MetroDay
Costing just £5, the new ticket is valid all day on any bus operator in West Yorkshire and could be the best value ticket option for employees who work part time or are only in the office a couple of days a week.
Operator Only Tickets
There are also operator only schemes which may be more cost effective if your employees only use one operator to travel to and from work.
Northern Rail offer a season ticket whereby employees only pay for 40 weeks travel and get 12 weeks FREE between two chosen stations, any time, seven days a week. For more information about this scheme contact: corporate.sales@northernrail.org
